“Correspondances Sonores”

An audio correspondence in British Columbia

Receiving a postcard is like being granted privileged access to a place, an era, or to people.

The communities of Kamloops, Maillardville, Campbell River and Comox invite you to discover the individual identities of their region via sound post cards. Close your eyes and listen closely… it’s just as if you were there.

Head over to PodBean to listen to the post cards.

Post card #2: Kamloops’ Fiddlers

During the 2021-22 school year, the students of the 7-8 grade class of Collines d’Or school learned to play the violin with Isabelle, our community development and communications coordinator. Our second sound postcard relates their experience.

Vancouver Fiddler Gabriel Dubreuil gave them 2 master classes with (March 11 via Zoom and May 27 in person, in Kamloops).

Most of the students were here for the first part of the Correspondances Sonores project in the spring of 2021, so we wanted to add even more value to their participation in this project and help them improve their diction and their interpretation. Ingrid Broussillon, actress and founder of the company Griottes Polyglottes, gave 4 workshops via Zoom, during which they had to accomplish various exercices to make the narration of the sound postcard even more lively.
