Projects with schools
The AFK works with Kamloops Francophone school and French immersion schools for the students to take part in artistic projects, helping them practice French language and make Francophone culture alive.
School year 2021-2022
- Une langue, des histoires – What place does French language holds in your personal history? Collection of testimonials from students of:
– 5-6th grade classe of Ms Bérubé from Collines d’Or school
– 12th grade French immersion class of Ms Francis at South Kamloops Secondary School
– 3th grade French immersion class of Ms Palson at South Sahali Elementary School - An audio correspondence in British Columbia with the 7-8th grade class of Ms. Lepine Antoine and Mr. Boisvert at Collines d’Or school
- Violin lessons with the 7-8th grade class of Ms. Lepine Antoine and Mr. Boisvert at Collines d’Or school
- Creation of questionnaires for the FrancoQuiz app with Ms. Dion’s Grade 10 class at South Kamloops Secondary School
- Music sessions about Marseille and its area through learning the son À La Ciotat by Moussu T. e lei Jovents (series of five 30-minute sessions with Mme Dufour’s 2nd grade at Lloyd George Elementary School – Fench immersion)

- Creation of stop motion movies
- Creation of audio postcards for a correspondence project with a French school – “Une correspondance sonore à travers le Monde” (École Collines d’Or)
- Fresque painting with BAMBI (South Sahali Elementary – French immersion)
- Birth of cinema (3 workshops of 1h30 from May 17 to 19, 2021 – South Kamloops Secondary School – immersion)
- Tribute to First Nation victims of residential schools (3 juin 2021 – École Collines d’Or)
- Artwork and collage workshop, with photographs from the exhibition “Kamloops Francophone pioneers” (2 workshops of 1h30, May 28 and June 4 – Lloyd George Elementary School – immersion)
