FrancoFun Camp – summer 2021 informations

The Association francophone de Kamloops offers a French Summer Program for students 6 to 11 years old enrolled in Francophone program and the French Immersion Program. The program FrancoFun is designed to reinforce their speaking and comprehension skills in a fun environment. The children will be immersed in the language through entertaining activities, including games, sports, outdoor excursions, crafts, etc, for a summer that is full of francophone adventures!

Cost: 30$ / day or $140 / week, per child
Hours: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Dates: from July 5th to August 27th

Registration and sign up
All children must be able to speak and understand French and currently attending a Francophone or French immersion school. Please complete registrations form (available online https://francokamloops.org/en/registration-for-the-francofun-camp/ and return to the Association kam_franco@shaw.ca The number of places available is limited.
Updated June 21st : There are no more places for weekly registrations for summer 2021. There are still some possibilities to register your children for the day (mostly some Mondays and Fridays). Please, call us for more information : 250 376 6060

Required Material
Each child must bring a cold lunch and 2 snacks as well as a bathing suit, towel, hat, sunscreen, and a pair of running shoes well identified.
2021 Francofun summer camps program :
NATURE/ENVIRONMENT WEEK: JULY 5-9
This week, we’ll be spending lots of time outside exploring nature! Make sure to be prepared for the weather, as we will be walking a lot. We have crafts and games planned and on Wednesday, we’ll be walking to the Farmer’s Market to collect ingredients for a special recipe.
MYSTERY WEEK: JULY 12-16
This week, our summer camp of pro detectives will set out to solve a big mystery! Through various activities, they will slowly gain clues to unravel the truth. Did you know that this year’s Summer Reading Camp theme is “mystery”?
WINTER WEEK: JULY 19-23
Requested by one of our after school kids, we will be celebrating winter…in the summer! Don’t worry, no winter jackets and boots are required for these activities. Kids will make winter crafts and spend time outside. We’ll even be having a snowball fight with water balloons!
HARRY POTTER WEEK: JULY 26-30
Highly requested by all after school kids, we will be heading to Hogwarts this week. Did you know that Harry Potter himself was born in the last week of July? In honour of his birthday, kids will be sorted at Hogwarts and will participate in a variety of magical activities.
BEACH WEEK: AUGUST 3-6
It wouldn’t be summer without time at the beach! This week, we will be outdoors everyday, and you should probably remember your swimsuit…
SUPERHERO WEEK: AUGUST 9-13
This week, kids will become superheroes! They will be able to design their superhero (and their special powers), and we will talk about all kinds of superheroes; the magical ones and the everyday ones.
SCIENCE & ARTS WEEK: AUGUST 16-20
This week is jam-packed with activities! We will become mad scientists and create lots of experiments, and our arts-loving kids will be busy with plenty of projects. We will also take a field trip to the Kamloops Art Gallery.
SURVIVOR CHALLENGE WEEK: AUGUST 23-27
This week, kids will be completing all kinds of challenges, from obstacle courses, to treasure hunts, to puzzles. We will spend lots of time outside during this last week of summer!
